BALIKPAPAN, East Kalimantan: Researchers estimate there are more than 2,000 orangutans inhabiting Kutai National Park in East Kutai, East Kalimantan, the forests of which were thought to have been too damaged.

Indonesian carrier Mandala Airlines has initiated service to Singapore's Changi Airport. The privately-owned carrier - Indonesia's fifth largest by seat capacity - brings to 89 the number of airlines serving Changi. Singapore is Mandala's first international destination.
