Privately-owned Mandala Airlines launched Tuesday its international flights connecting Jakarta and Balikpapan with Singapore, Macau and Hong Kong.
The international service will only come into effect on June 25.
Mandala Air president director Diono Nurjadin said the new international routes were opened after the airlines receiving Operational Safety Audit certificate from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

"Singapore, Macau and Hong Kong have become the centers of business activities and tourist destinations in the regional over the past decades," said Diono told kompas.com when asked about the reasons behind the choices of routes.
